Ozark, Mo is conveniently located 20 miles south of Springfield and 25 miles north of Branson, all of which are connected by interstate 65. Similar to Springfield, Ozark is located on the Springfield Plateau, and uniquely, has the Findley River running through it, inspiring many of the names of local businesses. One of the prominent locations along the river is the recently renovated Ozark Mill, in the Findley Farms complex. Rejuvenated as a community hub, the mill now houses everything from fine dining to a cafe, as well as several local retail businesses and a Mill Tour. The Findley Farms property features workshops and seasonal events as well, including event venues that can be reserved for private use. Situated along the Findley River, there are also several trails for hiking and biking with fantastic river views, and fishing is always a popular river sport.
Ozark is also host to other parks, both along the river and otherwise, with accompanying features such as a swimming pool or a disc golf course. The Smallin Civil War Cave, located on the East side of Ozark, is a geologic, as well as historic wonder, joining other museums in the area, historic architecture, and preserved landmarks, as cultural representatives of the past. Live theater and art galleries also enhance the culture of Ozark, highlighted by the Stained Glass Theatre, a Christian community theater with 7 different productions a year.
The Ozark Square, headlined by buildings over a century old, is also following in the footsteps of Findley Farms, and undergoing a resurgence of activity, both old and new, providing business opportunities in the square and the surrounding areas. The Ozark School District, K-12, has also made recent upgrades to several buildings, with several more in progress, and a new 40 acre construction site will house government building, walking trails, and a 20 acre retail plaza, all under development near interstate 65 and highway 14. "Making Ozark Better Every Day" has never been more accurate.
